No. 3: The Utah Jazz fall in game 7, but Donovan Mitchell sets new shooting record:

In Game 7 against the Denver Nuggets, Donovan Mitchell scored 22 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, but the Denver Nuggets ultimately won the game 80-78. It was unfortunate that Mitchell’s season was over, but it was what he had accomplished in this series that was special.

Donovan Mitchell finished with 33 made three-pointers in this series, setting a new team record for most three-pointers made in a single playoff series and breaking Steph Curry’s NBA Record of 32 made three-pointers in a single playoff series. Although the loss may have been tough and heartbreaking for the Utah Jazz, Donovan Mitchell, who had been a voice throughout the NBA Bubble for social reform and social justice, had this to say after the game via ESPN:

"“The pain that’s on my face right now and the way I feel, I can only imagine what’s going through these victims’ families. I know I’m probably going to go back there and cry again but … this is a game. People lost their family members to police brutality and racism. I can only imagine. I wanted to say that. I wanted to get that out there because the way that I’m feeling right now is nothing compared to that.”"

At such a young age and early in his career, it is clear to see the passion Donovan Mitchell has for the game of basketball and how much of a leader he is not only for his team, but for our community. With everything going on in our world today, it was great to see Mitchell step up and be a voice for the voiceless and be a leader to better the world around us.

This was one of Mitchell’s most heartfelt and surreal moments in the NBA Bubble and truly gave fans a glimpse of who he is as a person and his vision for himself as a role model for NBA fans moving forward.
