Louisville football vs WKU: 4 opposing players to watch
By Alan Thomas
Kyle Bailey, LB
If Malone is the anchor of WKU’s defense, then Bailey is the nucleus.
Last season, Bailey racked up a team-leading 110 tackles, which was good enough for top five in the conference. He also picked off three passes, which was the most interceptions on the team.
The 225 pound stud flourished under defensive coordinator Clayton White’s 4-2-5 scheme, earning C-USA Defensive Player of the week in late September and becoming one of the most consistent and productive linebackers in the country.
Vigilant in pass coverage, Bailey will be keeping a watchful eye on the eyes of Micale Cunningham and will look to keep anything from happening over the middle. The former safety changed positions to linebacker a couple seasons ago, and it has sharpened his nose for the ball which will be a huge help when it comes to trying to stop Javian Hawkins and the potent Louisville football rushing attack.
Expect to hear his name called a lot this Saturday.
