“Christian Fitzpatrick develops into a key piece of the Louisville football offense”

-Alan Thomas

With most of the chatter around Louisville‘s offense centered around the three Heisman hopefuls (Micale Cunningham, Tutu Atwell, and Javian Hawkins) and Dez Fitzpatrick, one incoming player is sneakily making waves at preseason practices. My inkling is that he will start at least 4 games and score at least 4 touchdowns this season.

Christian Fitzpatrick enters his Louisville career as a hard-nosed hound dog type of receiver. It’s easy to imagine his older brother, Dez, a standout receiver in his own right, delivering a stellar year statistically, but one thing about his younger sibling is that he carries a slightly different style than most receivers on the Louisville roster.

Christian is not only fast, but he has a natural magnetic “go get it” approach to his position. This is something I think the coaching staff is in love with, as he can matchup well with bulkier defensive backs, especially in jump ball or 50-50 ball situations. Expect Christian to grab a few fade route snags or back of the end zone cross pattern touchdowns this season.
