These three Louisville football players will be key deciding factors in week 2.

The no. 18 Louisville football program and the no. 17 Miami Hurricanes will go toe-to-toe in a week two top 25 matchup this weekend. The Cardinals will stay on their home turf as D’Eriq King and the ‘Canes will come to town looking to knock off the Cardinals.

Miami’s record stands at 1-0 after they knocked off UAB 31-14 in a Thursday night showdown. Thus, the Hurricanes will have an extra two days to prepare for the game as ESPN’s College Gameday comes to town.

Miami ran all over the Blazers last week as they rushed for 337 yards on 52 total carries. That is good for 6.5 yards per carry. Miami was led by running back Cam’Ron Harris who had a very impressive performance on the ground with 134 yards on the ground.

Harris obtained an injury in the 2nd half in their first matchup. However, he is expected to play this weekend after returning to practice this week.

Much like last Western Kentucky, the Hurricanes have a very prominent runner at the quarterback position with King at the helm. He rushed for 83 yards on 12 carries against UAB. He threw for just 144 yards on 24 attempts.

The Cardinals caught a break in this one as projected top 2021 NFL Draft pick has elected to opt out of the season. The Hurricanes will not be hurting for another pass rusher as Quincy Roche will be playing for Miami against the Cardinals. Roche, a grad transfer from Temple, had a sack against UAB after racking up 13 in 2019 for the Owls.

Another impact player to watch for Miami in this game will be tight end Brevin Jordan.

With that said, let us take a look at which three Louisville players will be the most important to watch this weekend when the Cardinals play in primetime against the high powered Hurricanes.
