One team I’d like to see Louisville basketball play from each conference

Big East: DePaul

In a world where Louisville basketball gets to schedule anyone they want in the Big East, they should 100 percent play DePaul.

Why? Well aside from appeasing Mike Rutherford, DePaul’s biggest fan, DePaul would actually be a very winnable game that would still come with a major test.

DePaul?

Yes, DePaul.

There are obviously a lot more challenging teams to play in the Big East, but when it comes to a matchup that would be a lot of fun for both parties and that would be not too big of a risk DePaul is the perfect fit.

Considering the teams geographical location and familiarity with Louisville from back in the day, this is a matchup I’d love to see. DePaul won’t be great, but they should be equal to slightly worse than they were a year ago.

They lose Paul Reed Jr., a likely NBA big man, as well as former Illinois transfer Jalen Coleman-Lands, but they bring in four new graduate transfers to join a strong returning group headlined by Romeo Weems (former four-star recruit) and senior guard Charlie Moore Jr.

This is a game Louisville could win, and win big and that excites me.
