Ian Book, QB (RS Senior)

Book may not have the most talent on the Notre Dame team. But, he is certainly a gamer and a perfect fit for the Irish offense. He has also shown himself as a great leader for an Irish team looking to compete in the College Football Playoff this year.

Book has turned the ball over just once this year. In 2019, Book threw 399 passes and only had six of them picked off. While Book is more of a game manager at the quarterback spot, he certainly does his job for what the team asks of him.

Book has thrown for over 60 percent every year he has played for Notre Dame and is on his way to keeping that trend in his graduate year.

To go along with his game manager style of play, he has the mobility to take off from the pocket as well. He ran for 58 yards on nine carries against the Seminoles just last week. He is certainly not a statue in the pocket.

Book is averaging a healthy 8.1 yards per pass attempt this season. He is plenty good enough to lead the Irish attack and take a back seat to the running game when it is necessary. The Cardinals have certainly not faired well against the pass so far in the 2020 season giving up explosive pass plays in every game this year.

In 2019, Ian Book threw 14-for-23 for 193 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals. By all means, not a tremendous performance simply due to volume. However, it was certainly a more than effective game for Book.
