There are a few specific things that have led the football program to where they are now.

The Louisville Cardinals football program has been through a lot over the past three months. The college football landscape has had to dot their “i’s” and cross their “t’s” just for football to even take place this season.

College football fans everywhere should be grateful for the opportunity to watch football in this kind of environment with Covid-19 still so predominantly present in the lives of everyone. Most recently, even the Louisville football program has felt Covid’s wrath.

The Louisville football program has been through the ringer to this point. The team is finally on a bye week after they were forced to reschedule their game against Virginia.

Now, the team stands at just 2-5 after being projected to finish fourth in all of the ACC by the media in the preseason. There is no way around it except to say that this has been a disappointing season for the Cardinals. The team is currently 13th in the ACC standings.

There are many reasons for the situation that Louisville finds themselves in to this point. On and off the field, it has been an uphill battle. The team really has not found their footing as the season is begins to wind down.

With all of these issues in mind to this point in the season, there are three key storylines that have led the Cardinals to a slumping record and no real answers as just four games remain.
