Louisville football: Three Syracuse players to watch
The Louisville football team will have to keep tabs on these three Syracuse players this Friday.
The Louisville football team is prepared to take on Syracuse this Friday barring any unforeseen changes due to Covid. The Cardinals are 2-6 on the season while the Orange stand at 1-7.
The Orange have been through a lot this year and have been one of the programs hit the hardest by opt outs before and during the 2020 season. Despite the fact that they are at the bottom of the ACC, they are still showing some fight.
Most recently, the Orange lost 16-13 in a hard-fought battle with Boston College. While they have had some blowouts against them, they’re still competing with good teams in the ACC. It’s not likely they will just go belly-up against the Cards this weekend.
Among the players who have opted out include their expected 1-2 punch at running back in Abdul Adams and Jarveon Howard. Since the season has started, the team has also lost star safety Andre Cisco and corner/nickel Trill Williams.
Both Cisco and Williams have announced their intentions to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft while all indications point to Adams and Howard returning for the 2021 season. I fully expect Cisco and Williams to be drafted fairly early in the coming draft.
Syracuse has lost four of its best players for the 2020 season. That’s a tough blow for a team who was considered to have one of the best defensive backfields in the ACC (if not the country) in the preseason.
With all of that being said, Syracuse certainly does still have some talent on their team. There are some players that Louisville will have to key on themselves after struggling to a 2-6 record themselves on the year.
Here are three players that are must-watch for Syracuse in the matchup Friday.
