Jacobian Morgan, Quarterback

Jacobian Morgan is not a player that has been tremendous for Syracuse or one that will strike fear in the eyes of the Cardinals. But, he is a new face at the helm for Syracuse football.

Morgan made his first start in the Orange’s last game against Boston College. In that game, Morgan went 19-for-30 throwing for 188 yards with one touchdown and one interception on the day. All things considered, that’s not a bad day at the office for the 6’4″ 203-pound true freshman.

He was sacked four times in the game.

Morgan may not break the game open for the Orange, but he is certainly an intriguing name to watch considering a depth chart released this week lists Morgan as the unquestioned starting quarterback for the game.

In high school, Morgan was ranked as the No. 77 pro-style quarterback in the country by 247 Sports. His other offers included Austin Peay and Jackson State.

Louisville will have to know what they are getting in Morgan as he showed some ability to navigate the pocket and extend plays in the game against Boston College.

However, pushing the pocket and making Morgan uncomfortable should be able to uncover some flaws in his game that the Louisville defense can take advantage of. If the Louisville defense can do that, they will have a fantastic shot to win this football game.
