Offensive Line

It was an average performance for the offensive line in this game. They were struggling to find assignments in pass and run on multiple occasions.

I thought left guard Caleb Chandler had the most trouble of all. Chandler, who has been very good for the most part this year, allowed multiple free-runners throughout the night. It was just a game to forget for him that I am sure will be looked at in the film room.

The line in total on the day allowed 12 tackles for loss and four total sacks.

That sounds a lot worse than it actually was. The offensive line struggled with missed assignments for the most part which made the numbers look a little gaudy.

I continue to feel that Cole Bentley is on another level than any other offensive lineman on the team and should be squarely in the mix to be a first-team All-ACC performer from his center position.

He’s so good and he seems to always dominate whoever lines up in front of him while getting up to the second level to free his running backs in the open field.

Adonis Boone also had a very good game in this one. By my count, he only allowed one pressure and did a great job of sealing on running plays. Boone has slowly started to come along looking more comfortable throughout the season.

Overall Grade: B-
