Hunter Long, TE

Hunter Long is about as good of a tight end as they come in college football. He has been a Louisville killer as of late as well.

In his last two games against the Cardinals, Long has put up a combined four receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

But, the Cards are not an outlier as victims Long’s impressive production. The 6’5″ 253-pound redshirt junior has put up very nice numbers in 2020. He leads the Eagles in catches with 47 and is second on the team in receiving yards and touchdowns with 560 and four respectively.

Long will split out into the slot as a receiver or play off the end of the line of scrimmage either in-line or in a two-point stance.

He will be able to hurt Louisville with his route running and excellent hands. He is going to be a real problem this weekend if the Cards do not have a plan for him.

He has caused ACC teams fits all year and has only had less than three receptions in a game one time in 2020. He averages a huge 11.9 yards per reception this season. Long is another player on Boston College’s offense destined for the NFL. He may be one of the more under-the-radar prospects in the upcoming NFL draft.

It’s worth wondering how Louisville will look to combat Long’s fantastic route running capabilities. The last good tight end that Louisville played (Tony Poljan, Virginia) was hit hard in the first half and never returned to the game following an injury.

Look for Long (as well as Flowers) to be the focus points of the offense with BC’s run game struggling mightily this year.
