Louisville basketball: Three players to watch for Virginia Tech
G Tyrece Radford
The best way to categorize Tyrece Radford is a pure slasher. He is one of the best under-the-radar players in college basketball who is just entering his redshirt sophomore season.
Radford plays way bigger than his 6’2″ size profile would suggest as he is able to play above the rim and go toe-to-toe with taller opposing players with ease. He has the length of someone that would be much taller than himself.
He also has the kind of defensive upside that any team would covet with a combination of athleticism, length, and a ton of strength.
Radford is an extremely efficient player that shot upwards of 60 percent in 2019 as a freshman and over 50 percent so far as a sophomore.
This will be a tough guard for any of Louisville’s players. You would have to assume that David Johnson will draw this very tough matchup. Keep an eye on this one as Radford is very good and very underrated within the league right now.
He may not score the most points or grab the most rebounds. But he will certainly be making a very sizable impact on the game in a multitude of areas.
Radford struggles shooting jump shots and clearly feels most comfortable taking the ball as close to the rim as he can on offense.
He is the type of do-it-all player any team would covet and he has proven to be a spark at both ends of the floor and as a rebounder for the Hokies.
