Lamar Jackson highlights playoff quarterback duel
Lamar Jackson finally got the monkey off his back after winning the first playoff game of his career last weekend against the Tennessee Titans. Now he is faced with an entirely new challenge as he duels against one of the NFL’s best.
On Saturday night primetime, Jackson will battle against the Buffalo Bills who are led by young rising star Josh Allen. With four more NFL playoff games in the divisional round this weekend and eight total teams remaining in the Super Bowl race, Jackson and the Ravens will have the spotlight as they travel to chilly Buffalo for a matchup against the AFC’s two-seed.
This may be Jackson’s toughest challenge yet as he will be forced to match the high-powered offense of Allen and the Bills.
Allen and Jackson were both a part of the highly touted 2018 quarterback draft class. Jackson and Allen have separated themselves from the pack and now the third year quarterbacks will duke it out in the playoffs.
But first, Lamar wants to make sure he avoids the snow if possible.

The Bills have scored under 30 points just three times since Week 8 of the regular season and have put up over 20 points in 10 straight games.
Despite the Ravens’ awesome defense, Lamar will have to put up his fair share of points to keep up in this highly anticipated showdown. Both teams have been on a hot streak at the right time with the Ravens winning six straight while the Bills’ streak stands at seven games rattled off in a row.
How Lamar and the Ravens can take home the victory
It will not be easy. But there are plenty of scenarios for the Ravens to win this game. Last weekend, the Bills gave up over 300 yards to a 39-year old Phillip Rivers as he nearly helped the Colts pull the upset in Buffalo.
Rivers picked apart the Bills’ defense with ease at times as Buffalo failed to close gaps in zone coverage. Mark Andrews is Jackson’s favorite weapon in the pass game. If there is a big weakness on the Bills defense, it is in the middle of the field. That should be a hot spot for Lamar Saturday night.
The Bills gave up 472 total yards last week and are tied for 28th in yards per rushing attempt given up with 4.7 per attempt. That is good for worst among remaining playoff teams.
This storyline seems to set up well for Jackson and the Ravens. Lamar will have to deal with all-pro corner Tre’Davious White on the outside but the middle of the field with Andrews could be there for the taking.
Jackson has proven he can win in the playoffs. His next challenge is to prove how deep he can take his team on a run. He will be given that opportunity Saturday night in what might be the most difficult contest he has had to participate in as a pro.
It will be yet another night of must-see television featuring Lamar Jackson in a highly anticipated duel of quarterbacks.
