A dynamic pass rusher was something that the Cardinals sorely missed in 2020. Despite decent contributions from Yasir Abdullah, Louisville could really use a guy to threaten the passer and generate pressure consistently.

In Louisville’s 3-4 based scheme, Anderson would thrive as the stand-up rusher at 6’4″ 235-pounds. The former five star came into Alabama and immediately lit it up as a true freshman.

He had seven sacks and a whole bunch of pressures in his first season. This trade for Louisville would allow them to retain Anderson for two years before he inevitably would bolt for the NFL Draft as his trajectory would project him to being a very highly sought after first-round pick in the 2023 draft.

Louisville’s defense underperformed at times in 2020 often due to quarterbacks being too comfortable. The addition of Anderson and the seamless fit into this scheme would take the Louisville defense to the next level.
