New York Jets

We stay in New York (well, New Jersey really) for another potentially good fit. The Jets are badly in need of weapons and we could inject some speed into this offense for newly hired offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. LaFleur comes over from Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers staff and he may be looking to apply some similar philosophies to his offense.

Here’s why it makes sense. In Shanahan’s offenses, the system looks to utilize yards after catch very often. In fact, that’s almost exclusively the focus of the receiver room in the system. If LaFleur is looking for a similar flavor, Atwell makes some sense as a pick early day three. It’s a position that the Jets could easily double dip on given their lack of talent at the position. The Jets, once again, have an established slot player in Jamison Crowder.

Atwell just offers a dimension for another weapon to the offense. We already slotted another Louisville star as a great fit to the Jets in a recent piece as well.

This would be a very good landing spot for Atwell that would likely take big-time advantage of all of his strengths as a prospect.

Other potential fits: Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers, Seattle Seahawks
