Louisville basketball: Three things we learned from Duke win
Please do away with any and all Chris Mack slander
Louisville’s head coach has clearly gotten his team ready to play after two Covid pauses. The Cardinals were blasted in the two returning games from the long pauses, but they’ve bounced back in a big way after each.
They lost by 37 to Wisconsin in embarrassing fashion. Following that loss, they rattled off five wins in a row including a victory over ranked Virginia Tech.
This time around, Louisville came off the pause to lose by 45 to North Carolina. Since, the Cardinals look much more comfortable with two wins in a row over Notre Dame and a Duke team that was playing much better basketball as of late winning four games in a row before Saturday’s matchup.
Mack has now led the Cardinals in a sweep over Duke this season and wins over potential tournament teams of Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, and Georgia Tech.
Two games against Quad 1 teams remain this season including the Cardinals’ first chance to play Virginia.
In a Covid year, Mack has done a standup job of keeping things together despite multiple Covid pauses and should be applauded for his efforts.
