With Christmas right around the corner, all any Louisville fan or alum can hope for is a bowl win for Louisville football, and for Louisville basketball to beat Kentucky in hoops this December. The way rumors have circulated in recent days on the Cards campus, one might think the “Elf on the Shelf” has a not so good report for Santa this year.

The University of Louisville seems to be going through what could be a mass exodus of administrative officials. University President Neeli Bendapudi is leaving her post at Louisville  to take the same exact position at Penn State University. Now the school will seek to hire another individual to fill the same role.

Additionally, things are also in motion in the athletics department. It has been reported that athletic director Vince Tyra will also seek a new opportunity now that his non-compete clause was removed from his contract earlier this week. Where might he be headed? Florida State was mentioned as one of his likely landing spots until they hired a new AD just earlier today.

Tyra handed in his letter of resignation on Thursday.

The University is clearly going through times of fluctuation and a changing of the guards. I am sure candidates would be more than happy to oversee a school’s athletic programs that have reached great heights of success nationally in recent years.

No coaches have decided to leave, but fans are probably wondering what else will change and how soon. During times such as these students and fans just look for someone who is willing to come in and galvanize the environment. That’s the type of security any school and fanbase needs. Stay tuned for any news of who’s next in line to manage the future of all Cardinal sports.
