2021 was a year most Louisville football fans would probably like to put behind them. The Cards did make a bowl game, but for the most part the season seemed to be a bit “stuck in the mud”. The offense and quarterback Malik Cunningham had their bright spots, but that success likely left optimistic expectations for Cards fans heading into this season. The 2022 football schedule was released on this past Tuesday:
Saturday, Sept. 3 — At Syracuse
Saturday, Sept. 10 — At Central Florida
Friday, Sept. 16 — vs. Florida State
Saturday, Sept. 24 — vs. South Florida
Saturday, Oct. 1 — At Boston College
Saturday, Oct. 8 — At Virginia

Count em’ up Cards
At first look, Louisville has an early tough road game at UCF, whom they beat last season in spectacular fashion using a pick six returned for a touchdown by the defense. A win like that on the road should give the Cardinals plenty of early season juice. Additionally, the Cards have tough road games at Virginia, Clemson, and Kentucky.
A high note would be that Louisville does get the luxury of hosting both ACC championship game participants from last season, Wake Forest and Pittsburgh. The Cardinals have some room to make a little noise this season if they are calculated and careful with all challengers.
