During his time at Louisville, Donovan “Spida” Mitchell was quite the high flyer. He was someone who could convince Dickie V to yell his patented, “Up up and away,” as he skied through the lane for a nasty dunk to get the Yum! Center crowd on it’s feet. Well, he has continued that level of play for the Utah Jazz and it has helped propel him to his 3rd consecutive NBA All-Star game!

Louisville stand up!

Mitchell starred at the University of Louisville under former head coach Rick Pitino from 2015-2017. The former NBA Slam Dunk Champion has been sidelined the last several weeks with an injury, but will hopefully get a chance to participate in this year’s game. He was selected as a reserve alongside teammate Rudy Gobert, who is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year.

Spida is averaging just over a cool 25 points a game and is shooting a career best in field goal percentage. He will be representing the Western Conference as a dual threat guard who can shoot and also cram it on top of your fitted cap! Cards and Jazz fans look forward to seeing more of what Donovan Mitchell has in store for us in the very near future.
