Jawon Pass, a former four-star prospect, arrived on the University of Louisville campus in 2016 with dreams of becoming the next great Louisville quarterback. Following in the footsteps of guys like Brian Brohm, Teddy Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson, he sought to continue the greatness of Louisville football. The dawn of a new age was going to take place and the hope of success is still on the horizon as he wins the starting role in 2018.

Unfortunately, that was the height of his career at the University of Louisville. In 2019, he sustained a season ending foot injury that would ultimately result in him never returning to the starting role again. He sat on the sidelines watching Malik Cunningham takeover the QB1 role.

Jawon was faithful to the program and did stay with the Cardinals until the 2020 season, but ultimately would transfer to the Prairie View A&M Panthers as a graduate transfer. Jawon was loved by Cardinal Nation and wanted nothing but the best for him. So, the opportunity before him is an exciting one…

The XFL, a league founded by WWE’s Vince McMahon, was another endeavor of his to expand his passion for wrestling with the electricity of the gridiron. But the interest in it did not withstand the test of time and he ended up selling the league to none other than Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson.

Johnson is such a unique person to buy this league because he played football, he was a wrestler, and now he is one of the biggest faces in Hollywood. So he has the connections and the resources to make this league a must-watch.

The XFL’s upcoming season in 2023 is where this up-and-coming league crosses paths with Jawon Pass. He has been tentatively assigned to the San Antonio chapter of the league. In preparation for this exciting opportunity, he has been working closely with quarterback training legend Jordan Palmer to tighten up his mechanics.

Jawon Pass in an XFL uniform would be an incredible testament to who he is and how far he has come since his foot injury in 2019. Cardinal Nation is rooting for him and looking forward to seeing where this opportunity goes.
