Four-Star Defensive Edge Rueben Bain Jr. narrowed his list of potential schools to six. Unexpectedly, Louisville has made the list, and seemingly out of nowhere. Bain has been forecast to Miami, but if Louisville could land Bain Jr. it would be a major recruiting win for Satterfield and his staff. In eleven games, Bain finished his junior season with 29 sacks, 70 tackles, 48.5 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. He’s been back-to-back defensive player of the year in Florida and is currently on pace to break last year’s records. In 2022, he has 11 sacks, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 20 tackles in 4 games. In 2021, Bain led the nation in sacks.

Bain is rated as a 4-star prospect by 24/7 Sports and the 97th overall prospect in the class of 2023. He’s also being heavily recruited by Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Miami, and Florida State. Miami is the hometown favorite. On September 23, 2022, he posted a picture of himself and his dad in Louisville jerseys. Louisville currently has the 19th overall recruiting class for 2023, according to 24/7 sports. Bain would be the highest-rated edge prospect of the class if landed. Adonijah Green, from Georgia, is the only defense edge prospect that has committed to play for the Ville in 2023.
