Head Coach Jeff Walz enters his sixteenth season at the helm of the Louisville women’s basketball program. He is the winningest coach in program history with a record of 414-113 and seeks to improve that record through 2028 with the announcement of his recent contract extension.

The success of the program for the last two years has been generated by the talent of junior guard Hailey Van Lith. She is the face of the program and has been rewarded for her success by receiving seven first place votes for the 2022-2023 All-ACC Preseason Team.

She is joined on the All-ACC team by her teammate Morgan Jones. Jones joined the team this year as a graduate student from Florida State. The 6-foot-2 guard left an imprint on the Seminoles history books and looks to continue her success with the Cardinals.

Jones is joined by fellow graduate students guard Chrislyn Carr (from Syracuse), guard Mykasa Robinson, forward Liz Dixon (from Georgia Tech), and center Josie Williams (from Utah Valley). The sheer amount of leadership and experience on this team is staggering. Look for the Cardinals to be poised under pressure and move the ball effectively.

These ladies led by history-making machine Jeff Walz is a perfect recipe for consistent success. It makes sense why Louisville has been voted as the number 7 team in the nation in the Preseason Top 25 as well as the number 1 team in the ACC.

Jeff Walz is synonymous with winning on the sidelines for the Cards and his track record continues to shine as he enters this upcoming season. The Cardinals are set to open their season against Cincinnati on November 7, 2022.
