Future faces of the backfield for the Louisville Cardinals have huge nights on the gridiron. Four-star quarterback commit Pierce Clarkson leads his team to a massive 48-7 win over Orange Lutheran High School.

Clarkson threw for 147 yards and a touchdown on only 16 attempts with one of his completions going to fellow Louisville commit DeAndre Moore for 20 yards. This connection could continue to be deadly in Flyville for years to come.

On top of that, he ran for 98 yards and two touchdowns. The Bellflower, California product continues to get Louisville fans excited for his arrival on campus with performances like these. The opposing defense was trying to contain him with an all-out blitz but it did not work.

Joining Pierce with an incredible performance was the 2023 Louisville commit and the number one running back prospect in the country Rueben Owens. Owens rushed for 214 yards on a mere 14 carries and hung out in the endzone 3 times. There is a reason this five-star prospect is as highly ranked as he is. He makes opposing defenses look inferior and as if they do not have a chance of bringing him down. Here is one of his highlights from Friday night’s win over Iowa Colony:

The El Campo, Texas product found home at the University of Louisville and will make an immediate impact for the Cardinals. Owens was originally committed to the Longhorns, but decided to reopen his commitment and made his way to Flyville. Card Nation is grateful to have him suit up in the red and white!
