Wide receiver Tar’Varish Dawson enrolled at Auburn University for the 2021-2022 season. But after only a year and a half in Auburn, Alabama, he has decided to enter his name into the transfer portal.

When Dawson was a high school prospect, he narrowed his list down to six schools. One of those schools was the University of Louisville. The Cardinals joined a list with Auburn, Central Florida, Miami, Minnesota, and South Carolina.

The Lehigh Acres, Florida native including Louisville in his top six schools is no surprise considering the history of Florida athletes coming to The Ville for their collegiate careers. Initially, it started with Teddy Bridgewater but has since turned into a pipeline including the likes of Lamar Jackson, Gerod Holliman, among others.

It seems as if the Auburn football program is in shambles this season. They lost their quarterback Bo Nix to the transfer portal before the beginning of the football season, now Tar’Varish Dawson has entered his name into the transfer portal along with tight end Landen King.

All of these players headed for the door at Auburn are probably a foreshadowing of their head coach following in their footsteps. Head Coach Bryan Harsin’s name has been on the hot seat a significant amount this year joining Scott Satterfield.

The likelihood of Dawson coming to the Cardinals is not completely farfetched and having him join the 2023 incoming recruiting class as an option for Pierce Clarkson or whomever is named the starting quarterback would be another weapon added to the arsenal as he is a former four-star recruit.
