Hailey Van Lith is on her way to becoming a fan favorite in the Louisville Women’s Basketball community for a longtime, joining the likes of Angel McCoughtry, Shoni Schimmel, among others. The former five-star recruit continues to dominate on the court and make the game of basketball appear to be one of ease.

Coach Jeff Walz landing the 5-foot-9 guard from Cashmere, Washington continues to pay off more and more. In the season opener against Cincinnati, Van Lith finished with a team high 28 points in a mere 31 minutes. That is nearly a point-per-minute pace.

Joining her in pouring in buckets were graduate transfers Morgan Jones and Liz Dixon with 14 points and 12 points respectively. Jones is a graduate transfer from Florida State where she left an elite resume with the Seminoles and after playing her first game in a Cardinals unifrom, it looks like her and Hailey will be a dangerous scoring duo for Coach Walz.

After the game, Jones tweeted about her experience as a Cardinal and how much she enjoys playing for the ACC squad.

On top of their win over the Bearcats, the ladies were able to witness their 2022 NCAA Final Four Banner get raised into the rafters.

A special night for a special team capped off with a convincing win over Cincinnati with a final score of 87-68. The Cardinals are currently ranked as the 7th best team in the country, which may seem a little low, but the capability of these ladies could see them move up higher as the season progresses.

What may be even more surprising than the No. 7 seed is the fact that Louisville currently sits at +2000 to win the National Championship. It may be advantageous for Cardinal fans to take a flyer on that if these ladies continue to soar over their opponents.
