2. Terry Rozier

Terry Rozier attended the same high school and college as Montrezl Harrell. The Youngstown, Ohio native attended Hargrave Military Academy as well as the University of Louisville. Rozier only spent two seasons with the Cardinals from 2013-2015.

After the 2014-2015 season, the 6-foot-1 guard entered his name in the 2015 NBA Draft where he was selected with the 16th overall pick by the Boston Celtics. He played out his four year  entry-level contract with the Celtics and then signed with the Charlotte Hornets as a free agent.

Loyalty and production are two words that can faithfully describe Terry Rozier’s tenure as an NBA athlete. He has played out the entirety of two contracts to this point and is currently playing out his third NBA contract and his second with the Hornets.

Rozier is averaging 20 points and five assists for Charlotte this season. He has solidified himself as a viable scoring option for the Hornets and consistently displays his incredible athleticism on the floor. His ability to get to the rim makes it look effortless.

1. Donovan Mitchell

Donovan Mitchell spent two seasons as a Louisville Cardinal from 2015-2017. Watching as a spectator during his time in Louisville, it was very clear that Mitchell was going to be a star at the next level. His athleticism and craftiness with the ball in his hand were going to propel him to be a first round draft pick.

That is exactly what transpired in the 2017 NBA Draft in which the Utah Jazz selected him with the 13th overall pick. He spent five years as a member of the Utah Jazz in which he completed his four year entry-level contract.

In September 2022, Mitchell was traded from the Utah Jazz to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Lauri Markkanen, Ochai Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three first-round picks, and two pick swaps. Based on that trade package alone, one could determine the value that he brings to a team.

As of now, it seems as if that trade was successful for both sides as Markkanen is having a career year up to this point and Mitchell is averaging 30 points a game for the Cavaliers and has already formed a dynamic backcourt with Darius Garland. The two have already combined for several highlight reel assists this season.

Both of them are so young as well, so the future is looking bright for The Land with those two in the backcourt and Evan Mobley in the frontcourt.
