Jeff Brohm has reinvigorated the Louisville Cardinals in four weeks in such a way that not only has the fanbase bought back into the program, but recruits and transfers are as well. Despite being officially named the Head Coach less than a month ago, Brohm has put together one of the most exciting recruiting classes in a good while.

The class coming in is headlined with star power like Madden Sanker, Pierce Clarkson, Stanquan Clark, and others. But there is one name that has been added to this list that has seemingly gone unnoticed by major media platforms.

That player is cornerback Kevin Longstreet out of Inglewood High School in Inglewood, California. The signing was not only confirmed on his personal Twitter page, but also by the Daily Breeze, a local California newspaper that covers the South Bay cities of Los Angeles County.

The odd thing about this signing is that not only was it not confirmed across top-tier Louisville media, but also Longstreet’s 247 Sports page doesn’t appear to be updated nor has it maybe ever been updated. He does not have an official rating in terms of stars or a composite score and only has one picture attached to his profile.

Another interesting storyline that comes out of this signing is that Longstreet is teammates with current Louisville commit Jamari Johnson. The four-star athlete delayed his commitment by not signing on National Signing Day, but has announced he will be putting pen to paper on January 7, 2023.

It is possible that Kevin Longstreet is a preferred walk-on and that is why he has not been added to the list of signees. If that is the case, he would join fellow preferred walk-on, Logan Frazier, who also has committed to the University of Louisville.

However, the Daily Breeze reported that he signed on National Signing Day, which would indicate he signed a National Letter of Intent, meaning he was offered a scholarship.

Other Louisville Cardinals News

Five-star linebacker TJ Capers, who recently announced his top-five schools, has already received a FutureCast on Rivals.com by Frank Tucker, a recruiting analyst for Rivals, and the same man who projected William Fowles, Cataurus Hicks, and Stanquan Clark to come to the Cardinals. Based on that statistic, Tucker is three-for-three on his projections and if Capers comes, then he could remain perfect on his predictions.

Capers is currently the number one linebacker in the Class of 2024 and if he proves Frank Tucker right, he would become the highest rated recruit in Louisville history, based on the composite scores provided by 247 Sports.
