Myles Slusher spurns Louisville for Colorado in the portal
Former Arkansas safety and four-star recruit Myles Slusher orginially committed to the Louisville Cardinals on December 21, 2022, which could be otherwise known as National Signing Day. Slusher was the last signing of the day for the Cardinals following a frenzy of high school recruits and transfer portal signings throughout the entire day.
The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native has two years of eligibility left and was originally set to spend those two years in Louisville, but has since announced his commitment to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.
Deion Sanders, a former Louisville River Bat, accepted the Head Football Coach position at the University of Colorado on December 3, 2022, two days before the transfer portal opened. He held a controversial team meeting once he arrived on campus and has since continued to make resounding noise echoing out of the once doormat program of the Pac-12 Conference.
The Buffaloes only recorded one win last season, finishing the season with a 1-11 record, but that trend is seemingly coming to an abrupt halt with the hiring of Sanders and his ability to recruit top-tier talent. Officially holding the position for a month, Coach Prime has already secured the Number 1 overall transfer rating in all of college football, according to 247 Sports.
And one of those additions is Myles Slusher. Slusher joined the Cardinals alongside former Baylor safety Devin Neal Jr. but once Coach Prime came calling, he cleared his social media of anything Louisville related and officially announced his intentions to head to the Pac-12.
During his time as a Razorback, he recorded 60 solo tackles, 33 assisted tackles, 93 total tackles, two and a half sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble. Although he finished his time in Fayetteville with an impressive stat line, he did not exit the team on good terms.
Slusher and fellow Arkansas defensive back Anthony Brown were arrested in November 2022 for disorderly conduct. As a result, he received a one game suspension. But, he wanted to make sure he went out on his own terms rather than the team’s, so he decided to quit the team ahead of their matchup against Missouri on November 25, 2022.
A week and a half later, he entered his name into the transfer portal on December 5th, originally signed with Louisville on December 21st, but ultimately chose Boulder as his final destination. Coach Prime is a very old-school, no nonsense type of coach, which can be confirmed in his Amazon Prime documentary entitled Coach Prime.
So if anyone can get through to Myles in the ways that he may need, it will be Coach Prime.
