Transfers Into Louisville

Kevin Coleman Jr. was a former four-star recruit coming out of high school. He spent his true freshman season under Head Coach Deion Sanders at Jackson State University, a renowned HBCU. During his time as a Tiger, he recorded 510 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns, which was an impressive rookie campaign.

Once Coach Prime accepted the Head Coach position at the University of Colorado, the 5-foot-11 speedy wide receiver decided it was his time to move on from Mississippi as well. He dropped a pin on his location showing that he was in Louisville and after a few peripheral exchanges with Louisville wide receiver Ahmari Huggins-Bruce on Twitter, it did not take long for him to announce his decision to become a Cardinal.

Georgia State graduate transfer Jamari Thrash was recently seen sitting next to quarterback transfer Jack Plummer and Head Coach Jeff Brohm at the Louisville men’s basketball matchup against Wake Forest, which initiated a Louisville Twitter storm of speculation on his commitment to the Cardinals.

Shortly after, he made his commitment official and decided to spend his final year of collegiate eligibility with Louisville. Thrash comes from Georgia State, an FCS program, with an impressive resume thus far. As a Panther, he recorded 104 receptions, 1,752 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns. His 2022 season was by far the most impressive as he broke the 1,000-yard threshold in a season with 1,122 total yards last season.

Jadon Thompson is a 6-foot-2 wide receiver out of Chicago, Illinois. He was given a four-star rating as a prospect and decided to commit to the Bearcats under former Head Coach Luke Fickell. Thompson chose Cincinnati over offers from Indiana, Iowa State, Purdue, Kansas State, among others.

In three seasons with the Bearcats, Jadon Thompson recorded 659 receiving yards and one touchdown, which came last season. The former Luke Fickell recruit decided to transfer from Cincinnati once Scott Satterfield was installed as the new head coach and Jeff Brohm was able to snatch him out of the portal.

Jimmy Calloway was a four-star prospect out of Morrow, Georgia in the Class of 2020 when he committed to the Tennessee Volunteers. Calloway was also noted as the number nine overall athlete in the country by 247 Sports, but he was never able to jive with the Volunteer offense.

During his time in Knoxville, Calloway logged a total of 124 receiving yards and one touchdown. Looking for a new home and a fresh start, he came up to the northern state of Tennessee to join Jeff Brohm and the Louisville Cardinals. His transfer announcement was kept relatively quiet in the Twitter-sphere, but officially announced his commitment to the Cardinals on National Signing Day, which was December 21, 2022.
