After a massive recruiting weekend for Head Coach Jeff Brohm and the Louisville football team, there were a few names that particularly made some noise in front of the coaching staff. Approximately, there were about 50 high school athletes who made their way to the city where Cardinals fly over the weekend and so far there have been three of them who have received full scholarship offers to play for the University of Louisville.

The first one is three-star defensive lineman Ted Hammond out of St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Louisville nows joins a lengthy list of schools that have offered Hammond. Some of the other notable programs include Kentucky, Cincinnati, Kansas, Boston College, among others.

For a historically offensive-minded coach, Jeff Brohm sure has an affinity for defensive linemen. Since he has been hired at the University of Louisville, he flipped Micah Carter and Saadiq Clements from recruiting them while he was at Purdue. He also recruited Kendrick Gilbert while in West Lafayette, and now Hammond joins the group of talented pass rushers to be tied to Jeff Brohm.

Following Hammond’s offer, the coaching staff offered four-star offensive tackle Luke Hamilton out of Avon, Ohio. The 6-foot-5 junior committed to play for the Michigan Wolverines in November 2022, where he was primarily recruited by Sherrone Moore whose name was being mentioned for the Louisville head coaching vacancy if Jeff Brohm didn’t take the gig.

Hamilton was rated as the 11th best tackle in the Class of 2024 by 247 Sports, so wherever he ends up, he will be a force in the trenches.

Joining Ted Hammond and Luke Hamilton is receiving offers is edge rusher Cole McConathy. According to 247 Sports, Louisville is the fourth team to offer him, but the first power five team to offer him. The Cardinals join a list of Tulane, Austin Peay, and UAB.

The last athlete that earned himself a scholarship offer this weekend, so far, is defensive lineman Eddie Tuerk out of Lyons Township High School in Illinois. Currently, he is listed as a three-star recruit with offers from Cincinnati, Central Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, among others. The 6-foot-4 pass rusher also joins Ted Hammond and others as a fellow defensive lineman.

Hailey Van Lith hit quite possibly the shot of the year last night in their clutch win over ACC-rival Florida State. The Cardinals were only up by two in the dying seconds of the game and off of one leg fading away, she hit an insane moon shot that would cushion their lead and ultimately propel them to a much needed win.

Four-star tight end prospect Dylan Mesman narrowed his list of schools down to his top ten and Louisville made the list, along with Minnesota, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Duke, Michigan State, Maryland, Auburn, and Pittsburgh. He announced via his Twitter account that his decision would be coming in the next few months.
