Two days before the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl, the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at 8:30 PM EST.

"“The East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star football game in the nation. An important part of America’s football tradition, the event gives top college players a chance to showcase their talents to NFL scouts and a national television audience.”"

Founded in 1925, the East-West Shrine Bowl has showcased some of the premier talent in the NFL as well as some of the most well-known coaches of all-time, including Paul “Bear” Bryant. Notable NFL players who have debuted in the Shrine Bowl are Lawrence Taylor, Walter Payton, and Tom Brady to name a few.

Now, three players from the University of Louisville football program will etch their names into this bowl’s storied history. The three former Cardinals who will debut in the East-West Shrine Bowl are defensive back Kei’Trel Clark, linebacker Yasir Abdullah, and offensive lineman Trevor Reid.

If you want to watch these Louisville alumni dominate on the field, here’s how to watch:

Date: Thursday February 2, 2023

Time: 8:30 PM EST (5:30 PM PST)

LocationLas Vegas, Nevada

Stadium: Allegiant Stadium

Tickets: Start as low as $26

The three amigos each had impressive careers in Louisville and look to continue their success at the next level. Linebacker Yasir Abdullah had an astounding senior season and was absolutely robbed of the ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors. Pittsburgh’s Calijah Kancey’s statistics were not even remotely as impactful as Yasir Abdullah’s.

Abdullah finished off his collegiate career with a career total 123 solo tackles, 86 assisted tackles, 209 total tackles, 23.5 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, and 3 fumble recoveries. What a dominant force he was in his time as a Cardinal and there is no doubt he will have continued success at the next level.

Much like Abdullah, defensive back Kei’Trel Clark had a stellar season last year and is riding his success with dedication and determination heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. Not only does he impress on the field, but he also is a student of the game, as reported by NFL Draft Writer for the Around the Block Network’s Daniel Flick.

On the other side of the ball is offensive lineman Trevor Reid, who came to Louisville from Georgia Military College like Reese’s Senior Bowl attendee Yaya Diaby. Trevor Reid finished his collegiate career with an impressive stat line: 1,309 career snaps played, 18 quarterback hurries conceded, seven quarterback hits allowed, and five sacks allowed.

For over 1,000 snaps played and only allowing five sacks, that is incredibly impressive. Reid stands at a towering 6-foot-5 and can stand his ground well against rushing defensive linemen. So, it will be fun to watch him this coming Thursday.
