Khalif Battle – 6’5 – Guard – Temple University

Khalif Battle is probably the player I’d be most excited to see Louisville land in the transfer portal. The 6’5 combo guard averaged 17.9 PPG, 3.6 RPG, & 1.8 APG, while shooting 41% from the field and 35% from behind the three-point line.

According to On3’s Tranfer Portal Rankings, Battle is the 9th best player currently available in the portal. Battle would make an incredible backcourt duo with Skyy Clark running the point guard position.

But, Louisville is not alone in their pursuit of the star guard. The Cards are just one of more than 25+ programs who have reached out to highly-touted transfer.

Battle was a high 4-star recruit in the class of 2019. He spent one season at Butler University, before spending his last three seasons at Temple University. He began the year off as the team’s sixth man, but injuries forced him to start eight games for Temple.

It wasn’t all roses for Battle and the  Owls, though. According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Battle got into public disputes with his coach, and, eventually, Battle left the Owls a few weeks before their season ended for undisclosed reasons.

Whatever the issues were for him, his talent far outweighs any of the risks that would come in picking him up. Here’s a quick video of Battle doing what he does best… hitting tough shots.
