Sean Conway – 6’5 – Guard – VMI

Sean Conway isn’t nearly as highly-touted as the first three guys on this list. He’s currently ranked 140th on On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings, behind notable departures like Roosevelt Wheeler, Devin Ree, and Fabio Basili.

But, just because On3 gives him a low ranking, that doesn’t mean he can’t impact Louisville, if he were to play for the Cards in 2023.

Conway started nearly every game last year for the VMI Keydets, and he averaged 12.1 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 1.4 APG. But where Conway’s impact would be most felt would be behind the three point line. Conway shot nearly 38% from three last season, on a ludicrous 5.7 threes attempted per game.

The numbers make it clear that Conway is an ELITE shooter, but this highlight clip also shows his ability to attack the basket where he’s able to finish at the rim and spot up for dribble pull-ups.

Like all of the guys on this list, Conway is receiving interest from numerous Division 1 schools, but according to Jake Weingarten, Louisville seems to be in pretty good position.

The transfer portal is obviously far from filling up with so many teams still playing or just losing last week, so I don’t have Conway as a must add for 2023, but his addition would help. The team struggled in a lot of areas last year, but especially behind the three point line. Louisville finished outside of the top-250 last year in three point percentage, and Conway would certainly help improve that next year.
