Over the past week or so, the University of Louisville has been a revolving door for prospects that both Head Football Coach Jeff Brohm and Men’s Head Basketball Coach Kenny Payne are seeking to convince to come to their programs. Here is a recap of who has been on campus in the past few days and who will be on campus in the next few days.
Kamarion Franklin
Kamarion Franklin is a 6-foot-5, 265-pound defensive lineman from the state of Mississippi. According to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, he is a four-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of Mississippi for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
Last season, his Lake Cormorant Gators went 4-7 on the season, however he was far and above the best player on defense. In 10 games played, he recorded 53 solo tackles and 20 assisted tackles for 73 total tackles, which was an average of 7.3 tackles per game. Franklin also led his team with 17.0 sacks for a loss of 130 yards. His next closest teammate only had 3.5 sacks.
So, needless to say, Kamarion Franklin got to the quarterback often and in a hurry.
On Monday of this week, March 20, 2023, the borderline four/five-star defensive lineman announced he was on an unoffical visit to see the Louisville football program. Franklin received an offer from the University of Louisville on January 17th of this year and would be a massive addition to a 2024 class that already includes five-star edge rusher TJ Capers and four-star running back Isaac Brown.
