Former University of Louisville basketball player and four-star recruit Kamari Lands has announced his commitment destination. This morning he announced his commitment to Bobby Hurley and the Arizona State University Sun Devils.
Bobby Hurley is the older brother to Dan Hurley, who just won the 2023 NCAA Championship with the Connecticut Huskies in a convincing win over San Diego State. The Sun Devils were always one of the top schools on Kamari Lands’ list.
Since his time at Louisville did not work out, he has decided to take his talents out west to join the Pac-12 Conference. Last season for the Cardinals, he averaged 5.9 points per game, and 1.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 32% from behind the arc.
The 6-foot-8 winger hopes for a fresh start in Tempe, Arizona, after an all-around season for the University of Louisville basketball program. Not only did the Louisville basketball program need a reset, but so did the former four-star recruit.
And now, he will be suiting up for the other team that was in his top two choices prior to committing to Louisville. In some ways, it’s almost like a homecoming because he played for Hillcrest Preparatory Academy in Phoenix, Arizona prior to coming to Louisville.
He comes into a Sun Devils roster that has seen three members of the team enter the transfer portal: point guard DJ Horne, point guard Austin Nunez, and center Enoch Boakye.
Three positions opening up helps Lands slide into the lineup, and joining him in the desert are four-star shooting guard Braelon Green and four-star power forward Akil Watson, who both have signed their National Letter of Intents already.
