4. Reece Gaines (1999-2003)

Reece Gaines is all over the UofL men’s basketball record books. He ranks fourth in points, seventh in assists, third in three-point field goals, and 10th in steals. A two-time All-Conference USA first-team selection and second-team All-American in 2003, Gaines averaged 15.6 points and 3.8 assists per game while shooting above 38% from behind the arc during his college career.

During his senior season, Reece Gaines helped the Cards reach as high as No. 2 in the AP Poll and ultimately win their first Conference USA Tournament championship. He is also one of only a handful of players who had the opportunity to play for both Denny Crum and Rick Pitino at the University of Louisville.
