Shaun Boykins Jr. is the No. 1 overall player in the state of Kentucky for the Class of 2024, according to 247Sports. Prior to Jeff Brohm’s arrival to the University of Louisville, Boykins was trending towards the University of Kentucky primarily because Scott Satterfield failed to recruit the state effectively.

Now, Jeff Brohm is back in town and making huge strides in recruiting the entire state of Kentucky, which is why Shaun Boykins is now trending to the University of Louisville. Boykins is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound wide receiver who currently plays for North Hardin High School.

In fact, the highly coveted in-state product didn’t even receive an offer from the Cardinals until April 16, 2023, which is wild to think about since he is so talented and an in-state recruit. According to 247Sports, Boykins runs a 4.45 40-yard dash, which makes him a heavily desired recruit to a guy like Jeff Brohm.

With the options in front of him being Jeff Brohm’s offense and Mark Stoops’ offense, any speedy wide receiver would thrive more in Brohm’s offense purely because of his scheme. Speedy wide receivers like Rondale Moore and Charlie Jones thrived in his offense at Purdue and now it is very likely that guys like Cataurus Hicks and Kevin Coleman will do the same this year for the Cardinals.

On April 22, 2023, Shaun Boykins announced his commitment for April 26, 2023, at 4:00 PM in his high school’s library.

Soon after, on the same day, Kentucky Wildcats insider for 247Sports, Josh Edwards submitted a Crystal Ball prediction for Shaun Boykins to commit to Louisville.

With Boykins’ speed and height, the thought of him committing to Jeff Brohm is extremely exciting to think about already. Stay tuned this Wednesday for his official commitment.
