Louisville wide receiver Chance Morrow announced that he will be entering the transfer portal this morning, per his Twitter page.

A 6-foot-6, 185-pound wide receiver coming out of high school, he was offered three Division I scholarships from Miami, Oklahoma, and Louisville. He chose the Cardinals over the Hurricanes and Sooners and signed his National Letter of Intent on December 15, 2021.

Morrow was a consensus three-star prospect and the No. 22 overall player in the state of North Carolina for the Class of 2022. He redshirted last season and did not see any game action, but it was anticipated he would see the field this coming season.

However, Scott Satterfield left, and Jeff Brohm came in along with a plethora of wide receiver talent including, freshmen William Fowles, Cataurus Hicks, Jahlil McClain, Tennessee transfer Jimmy Calloway, Georgia State transfer Jamari Thrash, Jackson State transfer Kevin Coleman, and Cincinnati transfer Jadon Thompson.

Over the past few months, the wide receiving corps got very deep, which means some of the players could see their playing time decrease. It appears that was the case with Chance Morrow, who already wasn’t playing last season, and now he can move on to another program where he can have an impact.

My guess is that he either ends up at another ACC program or even potentially an FCS school. With that kind of frame, he could make an immediate impact on a roster, especially with the experience he has to take with him from witnessing wide-receiving talent at a Division I level.

Virginia Tech and Old Dominion were also in on Morrow prior to his commitment to the Cardinals, so watch out for any of the aforementioned programs in terms on his recruitment this time around.
