RJ Luis – Guard – 6’7″ – UMass

Last week, things were trending in a great direction for Louisville to land its second portal player, but now things are looking a little murkier.

Coming into his Louisville visit, RJ Luis had one Crystal Ball prediction to land at Texas A&M, but just a day after his visit to Louisville, that prediction was removed.

Immediately, that sends out an idea that something happened during the Louisville visit that made Travis Branham suddenly less confident in his prediction. But that Louisville celebration ended the very next day, thanks to Mr. Joe Tipton.

I said this last week, and I’ll say it again. Kenny Payne must have accidentally sent someone on Rick Pitino’s staff the list of players the staff wanted to target in the portal because it seems like St. John’s is recruiting every player that Louisville shows interest in.

I’ll forever love Rick Pitino for the joy he brought me for 15+ years, but he needs to find his own recruits, please. Outside of the news that Luis planned to take a visit to St. John’s earlier this week, it’s been pretty quiet. No Crystal Ball predictions on where he might land, and no new visits announced.

I think Louisville still has a pretty good shot to land the lengthy two-guard, but it sure would’ve been nice to get a commitment right after the visit, instead of a visit to the Red Storm.

Here’s to hoping we get some news on the positive side of next week’s article.
