Luke Burgess – Three-Star Freshman – 6’8″ – 285 Pounds

The other half of L&M Eats, Luke Burgess originally committed to Louisville under Head Coach Scott Satterfield as well but decided to remain a Cardinal even when Jeff Brohm came to town. A consensus three-star prospect, Burgess is still projected to be a Power Five starter and has the tools to be a solid option for Jeff Brohm and offensive line coach Richard Owens.

247Sports’ Allen Trieu had this to say about him in his scouting report:

"“Has the kind of frame and build colleges want in a prototype tackle. Has experience from the left tackle spot but could play either side in college. Well coached, technically sound blocker who keeps his feet as a drive blocker and already shows the strength to move defenders off the ball. Has also played some defense and shown coordination and mobility at his size. Already hovering around 300 pounds but has even more room to grow. Solid athlete, but can still keep improving on change of direction and agility. Plays with decent bend, but for someone this tall, continued work on flexibility will be important.”"

It’s a perfect situation for Luke Burgess as Jeff Brohm has added several veteran pieces from the transfer portal who can plug into the offense and give him the time to develop into a starter. Standing at a massive 6-foot-8, Burgess will be a great asset to strut out there and keep the quarterback on his feet.
