John Paul Flores – Three-Star Transfer from Virginia – 6’5″ – 300 Pounds

Much like Vincent Lumia, John Paul Flores was under-recruited by the majority of programs. But, he had family ties to Dartmouth University. So upon graduating high school, he enrolled there following in his older brother, Jacob’s footsteps.

His sophomore year as a member of the Big Green, Flores earned the role of starting left tackle and kept in the entire season and was a massive contributor to the Dartmouth squad that would go onto win the Ivy League title.

The Fort Worth, Texas native’s junior season was canceled due to COVID, but the following year he was named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-Ivy League Second Team. Then, after his fourth season with the Big Green, Flores entered the transfer portal and ended up committing to the Virginia Cavaliers.

But, after one season in Charlottesville, he decided to enter the transfer portal again and this time would find his future home in Louisville, Kentucky. Head Coach Jeff Brohm put an emphasis on the offensive line depth originally with John Paul Flores, being that he was the first offensive lineman to join the Cardinals this offseason out of the transfer portal.

With several players coming in who previously played the right tackle position, his experience playing at left tackle could greatly benefit Jeff Brohm’s offense. It will be exciting to watch him join the mix of highly-talented players on the offensive line.
