Week 7 Transfer Portal Update:

We’re just over a week away from the transfer portal closing on May 11th, and, as that date draws closer, we have a few names that are becoming clear priorities for the Louisville basketball program.

Side note, this article usually comes out on Friday, so that I can include all the news from the last week, but I’m leaving tonight for a wedding in Dallas, so I’ll be away from my laptop for the rest of the week while I spend time with friends and family.

This article may be coming out a few days early, but there are still plenty of updates to cover.

With last week’s addition of Miami transfer Danilo Jovanovich, Louisville’s coaching staff now only has two open spots to fill.

Guard – Skyy Clark – Sophomore
Guard – Mike James- Sophomore
Guard – Hercy Miller – Walk-on – Junior
Guard – Koron Davis – Junior
Guard/Forward – Trentyn Flowers – Freshman
Forward – Kaleb Glenn – Freshman
Forward – Curtis Williams Jr. – Freshman
Forward – JJ Traynor – Senior
Forward – Danilo Jovanovich – Freshman
Forward/Center – Emmanuel Okorafor – Sophomore
Forward/Center – Brandon Huntley-Hatfield – Junior
Center – Dennis Evans – Freshman

Jovanovich’s commitment caught everyone by surprise. No one in Louisville media had any idea of the staff’s interest or of his visit to the campus.

His addition is made even stranger when you look and see the roster already has 6 forwards.

I watched his film and broke it down here:

I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw. He’s a very polished offensive player with a beautiful jump shot and a remarkable ability to get to his spots and knock down tough looks.

His lack of high-level athleticism and slower foot speed leads me to believe he’ll be a 4 at Louisville. If he can add more size to his frame, then I think he could eventually become a solid player for the Cardinals. I just think there were a lot better options out there in the portal.

But I digress… Let’s look at the latest news on players Kenny Payne is interested in and see if the Louisville basketball program could see a commitment sometime soon.
