Tre White – Forward- 6’7″ – University of Southern California

Last week, it was announced that Tre White was planning a visit to Louisville, which is huge news for a program that, up to that point, had only two other players take an official visit during transfer portal season: Skyy Clark and RJ Luis.

And following that visit, On3 gave Louisville incredible odds (97% chance) to land the freshman forward from California. Those odds still remain the same, but White is now visiting other programs following his trip to Louisville. Immediately following his visit to Louisville, it was reported that Tre White was taking a visit to UCF.

But, a much scarier visit could be coming soon.

Alabama recently lost a Wichita State transfer, Jaykwon Walton, so there’s a forward spot to be filled for Nate Oats. I’d keep a close eye out for an Alabama visit. It’s never fun recruiting against Oats.

For those of you unfamiliar with White, I’ll repeat what I said last week.

"“Tre White was a consensus top-50 recruit coming out of high school, and after an impactful year one at USC he has hit the transfer portal. After stepping foot on campus, White almost immediately became the starting 2/3 for the Trojans this year, and he made an instant impact this year. White averaged 9.0 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and he shot better than 47% from the field in a little less than 30 minutes a night. And as you can see from his high school highlights, he’s much more of the high flyer/slasher, than he is a shooter.”"

White is a Top-30 player in the transfer portal, according to On3, and he’s rated higher than guys like Keyon Menifield, Joe Girard, and El Ellis. My biggest concerns with White are that he’s a forward, and we already have seven other forwards on the roster. Not to mention, he’s not the most consistent from behind the arc.

White shot just under 26% from behind the three-point line (on just 1.5 3PA per night). I think he would be an incredible addition, especially since he’d only be a sophomore next year, but for the previous reasons mentioned, I’d actually be a little more excited to land this next guy.
