Among Jeff Brohm’s Class of 2024 targets is three-star linebacker Trent Carter out of The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida. According to 247Sports, Trent Carter is 6-foot-2 and 216 pounds and the No. 105 overall linebacker prospect in the state of Florida for the 2024 class.

Don’t let his three-star ranking fool you. This kid is an animal on the football field. Last year, he recorded 76 solo tackles and 34 assisted tackles for a total of 110 tackles. He was far and away the leading tackler for the Bulldogs in his junior campaign. The next closest player to his numbers was senior linebacker, Skyler Malone, who recorded 55 solo tackles and 27 assisted tackles for a total of 82 tackles.

Malone is currently undecided like Trent Carter, but his most prominent offer is from Connecticut. Carter, on the other hand, holds offers from Power Five programs like Nebraska, Pittsburgh, and Louisville. He also holds several other others from programs like Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State, Memphis, and Miami (OH), among others.

Recently, he announced his Top Five schools, via his Twitter account and the only two Power Five programs on the list are Pittsburgh and Louisville.

If one were to speculate, it would make sense for him to commit to either the Cardinals or the Panthers. But, anything is possible. Linebackers seems to love the 4-2-5 defensive scheme that Louisville now employs, so it’s very possible he ends up in red and white. Especially, with how much momentum Jeff Brohm has been gaining on the recruiting trail and the transfer portal.

Carter would be a great addition to a linebacker corps that could use some more depth.
