Week 8 Transfer Portal Update:

The clock struck midnight as Thursday passed to Friday, and with that quick tick of the clock, the transfer portal officially closed.

But, that doesn’t mean transfer portal madness has come to an end. The portal closing just means no new players can enter their names into it, but there are still around 800 names currently in the portal waiting to find a new home.

Add in the fact that graduate transfers don’t have to abide by this closure rule, at all, and, now, we’re set up for a few more interesting weeks of rumors, hopes, and speculation.

Transfer paperwork also takes a few days to process, so there’s a chance we even see some new names hit the transfer portal in the upcoming days that submitted their intent to transfer just minutes before the portal closed.

With last week’s addition of USC transfer Tre White, the Louisville basketball program only has one remaining roster spot to fill. Here is how the roster now stands:

  • Guard – Skyy Clark – Sophomore
  • Guard – Mike James- Sophomore
  • Guard – Hercy Miller – Walk-on – Junior
  • Guard – Koron Davis – Junior
  • Guard – Curtis Williams Jr. – Freshman
  • Guard/Forward – Trentyn Flowers – Freshman
  • Guard/Forward – Tre White – Sophomore
  • Forward – Kaleb Glenn – Freshman
  • Forward – JJ Traynor – Senior
  • Forward – Danilo Jovanovich – Freshman
  • Forward/Center – Emmanuel Okorafor – Sophomore
  • Forward/Center – Brandon Huntley-Hatfield – Junior
  • Center – Dennis Evans – Freshman

With just a single roster spot remaining, the pressure to land the right piece has only increased. It’s been obvious since the singular addition of one true point guard, Skyy Clark; this team needs another transfer ball handler, so I’m hoping that need is filled with this final spot.

But, for now, I’ll begin with a profile on Louisville’s newest addition.
