Jaylon Tyson – Guard/Forward – 6’7 – Texas Tech

Louisville was late to the recruitment party of the former Longhorn and Red Raider, and, ultimately, nothing much surfaced after the school reached out to the former McDonald’s All-American. Now, the talented wing has found his third, and assumedly final, home.

Tyson played in every game for the Red Raiders last season and averaged nearly 11 PPG, and 6 RPG on 48% shooting (40% from behind the line).

As soon as news broke that Louisville had shown interest, it seemed unlikely Tyson would make it to Louisville. Tyson had already visited Cal and had other visits planned by the time it was made official the staff had reached out. This is another talented player we didn’t land, but that blow is made easier by the addition of Tre White.

With the staff adding Tre White, the roster is certainly looking more talented than what we saw last year. I still have fears that this roster doesn’t have enough guys that can create shots for others, and I worry about our ability to be efficient from behind the three-point line, but I’m getting more and more excited as we get closer to seeing what the final roster will look like.

With the staff only officially reaching out to one new player in the transfer portal, I wouldn’t expect a commitment next week, but Kenny Payne and company have shocked us before, so I guess we’ll see.
