Montele Johnson is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker prospect from West Bloomfield, Michigan. He is a consensus three-star prospect, per 247Sports, and is the No. 79 overall linebacker prospect in the nation for the Class of 2024.

He recently announced his Top 5 programs that he’s considering and Louisville made the cut. Jeff Brohm joins a list alongside Kansas, Rutgers, Boston College, and West Virginia.

Louisville has arguably the best football program out of the five programs listed. But, each of the five schools are in the Power Five. So, no matter where he goes, he will have great exposure. Johnson is the second linebacker prospect to include Louisville in their top choices. The other one is Florida linebacker, Nicholas Rodriguez, who recently included the Cardinals in his Top 6.

He visited Louisville unofficially in January and is set to visit Kansas, officially, in June. Last season, as a junior, Montele Johnson recorded 102 total tackles, 3.4 sacks, and 23 tackles for loss. Those are the numbers of an impressive backfield disruptor.

He would fit in well with the Louisville defense that is adding Florida products TJ Capers and Trent Carter so far in the Class of 2024. The 4-2-5 defense that Ron English employs on the field appears to be a conducive defense for linebackers and this staff has some elite player developers. So, if he came to Louisville, he would be in a great spot.
