The last session of the 2023 Nike EYBL circuit is officially complete as of May 29, 2023. Now, we wait for Peach Jam. One of the names in this yearโ€™s EYBL circuit that have been tied to Louisville is 6-foot-7 winger Jalen Shelley, who is a consensus four-star prospect and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Texas for the Class of 2024.

Jalen Shelley, according to On3โ€™s Recruiting Prediction Machine, is still most likely to commit to the University of Louisville. Two months ago, Louisville was in the lead at 48.5% and that still remains the case. Playing his high school ball at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano, Texas, Shelley has been playing for the Houston Hoops in the Nike EYBL circuit.

In nine games, he averaged 14.6 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game, and 2.7 assists per game. His biggest game came against Team Boo Williams when he dropped 25 points in a 72-76 loss. Shelley went 10-13 from the field and 4-6 from behind the arc. In the five games he played in Memphis, he averaged 12.8 points per game and shot 55% from the field. Houston Hoops finished the weekend 3-2 and finished all four sessions with a 9-8 overall record.

The southpaw visited Louisville officially on the weekend of March 24-26th and reported that there was โ€œa lot to likeโ€ about the program. He has received a scholarship offer from Kenny Payne, has visited campus, and according to On3, is still trending to Louisville.

All signs are pointing to Jalen Shelley becoming a Cardinal in the future and he would then become the second member of the 2024 recruiting class up to this point, joining three-star point guard TJ Robinson.
