Kon Knueppel is the consensus No. 1 overall prospect in state of Wisconsin for the Class of 2024. In an interview with 247Sports’ Travis Branham, he confirmed that he will be taking a visit to the University of Louisville in June.

Over this past weekend, he had an absolutely stellar performance in Memphis, Tennessee as a part of the final leg of the 2023 Nike EYBL circuit before Peach Jam.

Knueppel averaged nearly 30 points and shot nearly 50% from behind the arc over the five-game session. Standing with a 6-foot-5, 205-pound frame, it appears he’s built for the 2 or 3 position. But, not according to his AAU coach at Phenom University.

Antonio Curro, his AAU coach, also coached Louisville player Danilo Jovanovich. And he said Knueppel is indeed a guard.

"“He is a G who can play the 1 or the 2 at a high level, Curro said.”"

Also known as the best shooter in the Class of 2024, the fact that he can also handle the ball and create his own shot makes this kid elite on a whole new level.

"“He’s the best perimeter shooter in the country in the 2024 classHe’s an exceptional passing guardHigh IQ – physically strong – can score at all 3 levelsProjects with hard work and continued development as a 1st round pick and potential lottery pick”"

Adding him to Louisville’s 2024 recruiting class would change the whole dynamic of that team because the University of Louisville hasn’t had a knock-down shooter since guys like Kyle Kuric or Lule Hancock and even they could not create their shot as well as Knueppel can.

Louisville also had guys like Jordan Nwora and Ryan McMahon more recently, but Kon Knueppel is everything good Louisville has had in a guard wrapped into one. He will be a real difference maker for whichever collegiate program he pledges his allegiance to.

On top of being an elite player, he is an extremely high-character player, which is exactly the sort of kids Kenny Payne goes for. His AAU coach said,

"“He’s an outstanding teammate. Exceptional character and 5-star human being.”"

It sounds like he and Kenny Payne will hit it off very well when he comes to campus in June. He’s likely expected to be in town around the 16th, but it has not been confirmed.
