Kon Knueppel, according to 247Sports, is the consensus No. 1 overall player in the state of Wisconsin for the Class of 2024. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound small forward currently holds offers from Division I programs all over the country, including Notre Dame, Stanford, Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, and Louisville, among others.

Highly regarded as one of the top shooters in the Class of 2024, he is a star on Nike EYBL’s Phenom University, the same AAU team that now Louisville player Danilo Jovanovich played for. Wisconsin is producing some high-quality talent and some of the more elite shooters we have seen over the past few years. Beginning with Tyler Herro and now with Kon Knueppel.

After his most recent EYBL session, Kon Knueppel got the chance to sit down with 247Sports’ Travis Branham and talk about his college recruitment. He mentioned that he has two visits set up for next month, and one of them will be at the University of Louisville.

In the five-game Memphis session, he participated in with Phenom University, he averaged nearly 30 points and shot 47.9% from behind the arc. An elite shooter who put up points in a hurry. He helped lead Phenom University to a 3-2 record in Tennessee, and now they have an overall record of 8-9.

Landing the top shooter, like Knueppel, in the class of 2024 for a visit is massive for Head Coach Kenny Payne. Already in on Karter Knox and now making a push for Kon Knueppel, it appears that he is only going to build off an impressive 2023 recruiting class.

Kon Knueppel has been pretty quiet on the recruiting front until his interview with Travis Branham and the first shreds of evidence of progress in his college recruitment include the University of Louisville. That is great news and it will be exciting to see how the rest of his recruitment unfolds.

Stay tuned for a specific date when he is coming to Louisville in June.
